If you love cosplay and the culture surrounding it here in Singapore, then you won’t want to miss International Cosplay Day Singapore 2013, which takes place tomorrow, August 25, at the *Scape Warehouse from 10AM to 8PM.
Celebrated Filipina cosplayer and artiste Alodia Gosiengfiao, former World Cosplay Summit Singapore representative Yuanie, and mecha cosplay legend Clive Lee will also be in attendance as special guests.
A convention pass (S$5) is necessary for entry into ICDS 2013. Here’s what you can expect to see at the event:
Cosplay Talent Showcase
A contest where cosplayers will showcase their talents in a dazzling variety of performances, to be judged by guests Alodia, Yuanie, and Clive.
Blizzard cosplay Runway
Brought to you by Blizzard Entertainment, this runway will see participants showcase their cosplay costumes themed after Blizzard’s three flagship titles – Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft.
Singapore’s 3rd Annual Cosplay Chess
An epic battle between the forces of science and magic rages on stage in this two-hour long cosplay performance extravaganza, brought to you by anibee.
Watch as Okabe Rintarou from Steins;Gate attempts to save the world from the destructive machinations of Dr. Doom from the Marvel universe.
With more than 60 cast and crew members, this segment is not to be missed!
Special guest Yuanie will also join the battle against Doom’s forces, cosplaying as Black Gold Saw in this epic showdown.
ICDS attendees will be able to influence the outcome of Cosplay Chess this year by competing a series of tasks to earn the right to vote for the winning side. Will they choose Okabe Rintarou’s forces of science, or the arcane might of Dr. Doom’s army?
Visitors who participate will stand to win fantastic prizes from ICDS sponsors, including Necomimi brainwave-activated cat ears, a studio rental package at Camwerkz, and more.
