J-League Division 2 team Mito Hollyhock FC is getting a lot of support from the hit anime series Girls und Panzer and their fans have most certainly gotten into the GaruPan spirit.
Ibaraki prefecture’s J-League Division 2 team is embracing their anime sponsor and have revealed their jerseys for the 2014 football season which features the logo of the Angler Fish Team from Girls und Panzer. The team logo, the Girls und Panzer logo and the Mito logo are also featured in the football jersey.
Replicas of the team’s 2014 season jerseys featuring Girls und Panzer will be released on March 31, 2014 and will cost 18,000 yen.
Mito Hollyhock FC is a team hailing from Ibaraki prefecture, which has recently received a lot of attention because of Girls und Panzer. The team started collaborating with the extremely popular anime last year.
Popular anime and vocaloid characters have also shown their support for their favorite sports teams. OreImo’s Kirino, Kuroneko and Ayase have cheered on baseball team Chiba Lotte Marines while Hatsune Miku has served as the race queen for Good Smile Racing.
