Hold on to your seatbelts, Macross fans: moments ago, the news broke in Japan that a brand new Macross TV anime series is currently in production.
Details on the new series are scant at the moment, and all we have to go on is this teaser image that accompanied the announcement on Tokyo MX, which came after the end credits for the final episode of the re-broadcast of Macross Frontier on the Tokyo-based TV channel.
According to fan blog Macross World, this is not the first time a brand new instalment of the 32-year-old sci-fi anime series has been announced in this manner. Previously, the Macross Frontier movies were also announced after the airing of the final episode in the series (episode 25), way back in 2008.
