It has been announced that AKB48 idol Mayu Watanabe will be lending her voice to the new Pikachu short titled “Pikachu Kore Nanno Kagi?” or “Pikachu, What’s This Key For?” as the short film’s narrator. “Pikachu, What’s This Key For?” will be the “Pikashort” for the upcoming new Pokemon movie, Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction
Mayuyu is certainly no stranger to voice acting as she has voiced AKB0048 anime’s Chieri Sono. She will be joining other guest voice actors like veteran actress Yoshiko Mita who will be voicing Xerneas, Kouichi Yamadera who will be voicing Ninja Riot, actress Rika Adachi who will be voicing Marilyn Frame, and Shoko Nakagawa AKA Shoko-tan who will be voicing Mirisu Steel.
It has also been announced that all-girl rock band SCANDAL will be singing the movie’s theme song titled “Yoake no Ryuusei-gun”.
The official Pokemon Japan youtube channel also began streaming the upcoming movie’s latest trailer.
