Gundam Reconguista in G is premiering this October which marks the return of legendary anime director Yoshiyuki Tomino. To celebrate the anime, the official website of the Gundam franchise, Gundam.info has asked its readers which mobile suit from the upcoming anime is the one which they are most excited about seeing and would want to pilot.
The poll counted 2,649 total votes and featured the six mobile suits from the anime which have been revealed so far. 1/144 HG kits have also been announced for each of these six mobile suits.

5) Kattoshii (3.1% of the votes)
4) Montero (6.5% of the votes)
3) Grimoire (7.8% of the votes)
2) G-Arcane (39.8% of votes)
1) G-Self (39.9% of the votes)
In a very narrow victory, G-Self has proven to be the mobile suit people are most excited about, however, it only defeated fellow Gundam, G-Arcane, by just 0.1% of the votes. The two Gundams come from a timeline which is right after the Universal Century (UC) called the Reguild Century (RC). Their designs have divided the fans somewhat, however, they still generated enough excitement to take the #1 spot in the list.
Gundam Reconguista in G follows Beruri Zenamu, an Capitall Guard member assigned to guard the Capital Tower, however, it gets attacked by a mysterious mobile suit which is revealed to be the G-Self. The G-Self contains technology unlike any other seen in any country on Earth, however, Beruri still decides to fight it with a Rekuten (ranked #6) and successfully captures it and its pilot, a pirate named Aida, and thus, his adventure begins.
The anime will premiere this October 2014 with Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino at the helm of the project as the director. It will be one of two Gundam series premiering during the Fall 2014 season, with the other being Gundam Build Fighters Try.
