The new Gundam anime, Gundam Reconguista in G, or G-Reco for short, has now already aired and has become quite successful early on, topping Sony’s initial Tornado Rankings.To celebrate the new show’s release, the official Gundam website, Gundam.info, has recently asked the fans which new character from G-Reco are they most excited to see.
The votes have now been tallied, and with a total of 3,642 votes, the fans have spoken and here are the results of this official Gundam poll:
9) Cahill Saint (2.2%)
8) Dellensen Samatar (3.2%)
7) Harobi (4.2%)
6) Manny Ambassada (5.5%)
5) Luin Lee (7.2%)
4) Noredo Nug (7.4%)
3) Bellri Zenam (12.3%)
2) Raraiya Monday (13.4%)
1) Aida Surugan (44.5%)
With an overwhelming 44.5% of votes, the pirate princess herself, Aida Surugan takes the top spot in this official Gundam Reconguista in G character poll, beating out #2 ranked Raraiya Monday by a huge margin of votes. Determined, strong willed, an excellent pilot, a mysterious royal background, and her red mobile suit, the G Arcane, have made many fans think that she is Char’s female version in this series, which is of course a lot different from Char’s other incarnations within the Gundam franchise.
#2 ranked Raraiya Monday on the other hand is a very mysterious character, with some unknown origins. She is quite attached to the G-Self and her broken way of speaking, as well as her lost memories have made her all the more alluring. Some fans have even theorized that because of her dark skin and silver hair, she could be an ancestor to Turn A Gundam main character Loran Cehack.
Main character Bellri meanwhile only takes the #3 spot. He may be the main character, but it seems that many fans have not grown fond of him just yet. Though regarded by many as an airheaded idiot, “Bell” has shown some pretty good piloting skills and tactics. He is also one of the few people who can pilot the G-Self.
