Dakimakuras, those body-size hugging pillows with a certain anime character printed in the cover, have been associated with Japan’s anime subculture for a long time. However, these hugging pillows get taken to a whole new level from Japanese manufacturers, BIBI Labs, as they have introduced the humanoid hugging pillows. Yeah, move over dakimakuras…
As dakimakuras basically can’t hug anyone back, however, these new ones by BIBI Lab called the Cotton Wife and the Cotton Husband can. Captain obvious says that the cotton wife is based on the female figure while the cotton husband is based on the male figure. These pillows come in white with a brown cover.
You can also dress them up any which way you like, whether you want to dress them up like a maid or a butler, or your beloved waifus and husbandos, it is all up to you. Hmmmm… those examples look like Levi from Attack on Titan and Azusa from K-On!, but the details are a bit wrong…
Yeah, you can really snuggle up to them and they can snuggle back, which cannot be done with your plain dakimakuras. They can also be used as lap pillows. Yeah, who needs a boyfriend or a girlfriend when you have these, right?
Oh Japan, they can really come up with all sorts of weird products. The Cotton Wife is sold for 8,400 yen while the Cotton husband is sold for 10,800 yen.
