Which anime songs do Japanese people love to sing in Karaokes? 10,000 fans weigh in

Anime songs, or anisongs, are one of the most important parts of the anime as they make the anime livelier and more interesting. In Japan, Karaoke joints would always feature these songs whether they are an anime’s OP, ED, or insert song.

Japanese anime character database, Charapedia has featured anisongs for this week’s poll, and they asked 10,000 anime fans which songs do they like singing in karaokes. Of the 10,000 people who have responded, 52.7% were male while 47.3% were female. Here are the Top 30:

30) Chala-Head-Chala (Dragon Ball Z)

29) Sorairo Days (Gurren Lagann)

28) We Are! (One Piece)

27) This Game (No Game, No Life)

3) Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari (Bakemonogatari)

2) Only My Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun)

1) Cruel Angel’s Thesis (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

In an unsurprising turn of events, Cruel Angel’s Thesis once again takes the top spot in an anisong ranking which involves karaoke. In a previous ranking done by MyNavi Woman, the classic anime song also took 1st place. Despite its age, the song has proven to be the go-to song for many Karaoke singers in Japan.

Only My Railgun’s second place win is also unsurprising as fripside’s unforgettable OP for A Certain Scientific Railgun has also become a common song performed in Japanese karaoke joints.

In a ranking filled with anime OPs, Bakemonogatari’s 1st ED song, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari by Supercell, takes the #3 spot thereby becoming the highest ranking ED song in the list, and beating usual favorites like God Knows, Guren no Yumiya, and Butter-Fly.
