Tsunderes, mainly known for mostly showing their “harsh” or “tsun” nature before showing their “loving” or “dere” nature, have been quite the mainstay in anime ever since anyone can remember, with very unforgettable and classic ones like Ranma 1/2’s Akane Tendou and Rie Kugimiya’s four most famous tsundere roles of Nagi, Taiga, Louise, and Shana.
But what do women think of these tsundere characters? Japanese women’s website, Mynavi Woman, has taken a good look at them and chose the Top 10 among the countless anime tsunderes out there. Take note that MyNavi Woman DID NOT RANK these characters and just chose 10 characters which they thought were the best tsunderes.

There you have it, MyNavi Woman’s choices for the Top 10 tsunderes and i-it’s not like they did this f-for you or anything! BAKA! Hmft!
The list contains all four of Rie Kugimiya’s most well known tsundere characters, Shana, Louise, Nagi, and Taiga, and shows that she really is the Queen of Tsunderes. Also included are very classic examples of tsundere characters like Asuka, Kirino, and Yozora. Along with Mikoto, these eight characters are known to be textbook tsundere characters and would fit the trope like a glove.
Haruhi and Hitagi meanwhile are considered by many as not purely tsunderes. Many attribute Haruhi’s hyperactive nature to be a little bit different from your usual tsundere characters, however, she does show a lot of tsundere characteristics, especially in the light novels. Hitagi on the other hand, though a self-proclaimed tsundere, leans more to the yandere side, but like Haruhi, she has her moments.
