These anime characters are the most ideal student council members according to fans

Many anime have been based on school life, and school life would more often than not, involve student councils. For this week’s Charapedia poll, the Japanese anime database has asked 10,000 anime fans to vote for which anime characters do they think would make the best student council.

The poll asked 10,000 fans to vote not only for the anime character they think would be the best student council president, but also the best vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The first page contains who the fans voted for as treasurer and secretary while the second page contains the president and vice president. Here are the results:

Secretary

5) Kuroko Tetsuya (Kuroko’s Basketball)

4) Kiyoko Shimizu (Haikyuu!)

3) Hachiman Hikigaya (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU)

2) Nagisa Shiota (Assassination Classroom)

1) Aria Shichijou (Seitokai Yakuindomo)

5650037_20140317091523

Aria may be perverted, but she really does her job well as student council secretary. She is sociable and well liked, and she she gets the job done. Meanwhile, Nagisa Shiota is efficient and talented at observing others, so he would also make a good secretary. The same could also be said for #3 ranked Hachiman, who despite being a loner, can get things done as efficiently as possible… you might hate him at the end though, because his methods are a bit unorthodox.

Treasurer

5) Io Naruko (Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!)

4) Ai Haibara (Case Closed!/ Detective Conan)

3) Mogana Kikaijima (Medaka Box)

2) Nami (One Piece)

1) Suzu Hagimura (Seitokai Yakuindomo)

12049939893_a4f4b41e61_o

Suzu may be small, but she is definitely a force to be reckoned with at school as she is a genius who can calculate complex equations in her head without a calculator in a second, which makes calculating club budgets and school allocations a breeze. And speaking of money, Nami and Mogana are also spot-on in terms of becoming treasurers as both girls know how to handle money, and it is really scary how they can be when it comes to the subject.

President and Vice President results are on page 2

Vice President

10) Mio Akiyama (K-On!)

9) Sasuke Tsubaki (Sket Dance)

8) Misogi Kumagawa (Medaka Box)

7) Miyuki Shiba (the Irregular at Magic High School)

6) Makoto Tachibana (Free!)

5) Koushi Sugawara (Haikyuu!)

4) Takatoshi Tsuda (Seitokai Yakuindomo)

3) Nozomi Tojo (Love Live!)

2) Asuna (Sword Art Online)

1) Shintarou Midorima (Kuroko’s Basketball)

Vlcsnap-2013-11-10-18h16m30s122

Vice Presidents are always the right hand of the President, always second-in-command, but always ready to take the lead, and it looks like fans have chosen a good leader in Midorima as the #1. Asuna, who served as the vice-captain of her guild in Sword Art Online, also has some great leadership skills, as well as former vice president, Nozomi

President

10) Lelouch Lamperouge (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion)

9) Tsubasa Hanekawa (Monogatari)

8) Misaki Ayuzawa (Maid-sama!)

7) Haruhi Suzumiya (The Haruhi Suzumiya series)

6) Hinagiku Katsura  (Hayate the Combat Butler!)

5) Medaka Kurokami (Medaka Box)

4) Shino Amakusa (Seitokai Yakuindomo)

3) Seijurou Akashi (Kuroko’s Basketball)

2) Yukino Yukinoshita (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU)

1) Eli Ayase (Love Live!)

maxresdefault

Eli may not be the leader of her school idol group, but she has proven her leadership skills as her school’s student council president. Yukino, who may not be a president herself, would also make a great president given her dedication to getting the job done as efficiently as possible, as well as her meticulous nature. Akashi on the other hand is a natural-born who is ready to take charge any time

So do you agree with the results?

Hollywood"s live-action Ghost in the Shell to have an earlier release date than planned

ghost-in-the-shell

Disney’s CinemaCon presentation from last month has announced that the movie will be released in April 14, 2017, however, they have rescheduled the release to an earlier date, which will be on March 31, 2017, which means we might get to see Hollywood’s take on Masamune Shirow’s classic manga a couple of weeks earlier than previously announced.

DreamWorks executive and legendary director, Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, E.T., Indiana Jones) is a huge fan of the original anime movie and has wanted this project to be realized for a long time now, and with this new Hollywood adaptation of the classic manga already starting filming this year, Spielberg will really be getting what he wants soon. According to reports, Scarlett Johanson was offered 10 million US dollars for the lead role.

Love Live! follow-up series, Love Live! Sunshine"s official character profiles unveiled

The official website for the new Love Live! follow-up series, Love Live! Sunshine, has finally been updated and it now shows the character profiles of all nine new aspiring idols, all of whom are students in a school with less than 100 students and is found in the seaside town of Uchiura, near Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Last time, the voice cast for the nine aspiring school idols were revealed

sunshine proj

Chika Takami (CV: Anju Inami) is a fan of μ’s, and like Honoka before her, is a second year student with orange hair. Her family runs an inn and is the youngest of three sisters. μ’s has inspired her to form a school idol group which aims to be the sister group of μ’s

 01.png

Riko Sakurauchi  (CV: Rikako Aida) is an artistic second year student who transferred to Uchiura from Akihabara. She is usually quiet and withdrawn and only became a school idol because of Chika’s influence.

cxghjsd

Kanan Matsuura (CV: Nanaka Suwa) is Chika’s childhood friend and is a third year student. She runs a diving school with her grandfather, and like many childhood friend characters, she often worries about Chika and decides to become a school idol in order to help her.

kabnan

Dia Kurosawa (CV: Arisa Komiya) is the new series’ resident rich girl as she hails from a well known family in Uchiura. Cool and competitive, she is their school’s student council president, and like Riko and Chika, she is also a second year student. She vows that Chika will “regret” adding her to the group as she will accept nothing but total victory.

daiya

You Watanabe (CV: Shuka Saito) is her school’s ace diver who wants to be like her father, which is a ferry captain. She is a first year student and she seems that she is not as confident as the other members in becoming an idol, however, she does find singing and dancing to be very fun.

U

Yoshiko Tsushima (CV: Aika Kobayashi) is a second year and is the series’ resident Chuunibyou who thinks she is very unlucky as her life has been full of misfortune. She calls herself Johanne and says she is a demon cursed with misfortune.

yoshiko]

Hanamaru Kunikida (CV: Kanako Takatsuki) is a first year and is a shrine maiden for a local shrine run by her family. Her friend, Ruby, managed to convince her to join the new group as she is a great singer and is part of a local choir. Her hobby is reading.

Hanamaru

Ruby Kurosawa (CV: Ai Furihata) is the one who convinced Hanamaru to become a school idol by pestering her, however, she is considered to be a crybaby and is afraid of men. She is actually Dia’s younger sister but seems to be her complete opposite as she is not very confident with her abilities as compared with her prideful and competitive sister. She is an idol fan and can be compared to Hanayo in that regard, however, she is prone to stuttering. Her hobby is sewing.

Ruby

Finally, third year Mari Ohara(CV: Aina Suzuki) may seem like an Eli clone as she is also half-Japanese (the other half is French, though her dad runs a Italian hotel chain). Her favorite genre of music is metal, however, her friendly personality is supportive of the others. She often inserts Italian words in her sentences and takes horseback riding lessons.

Mari

Fans get to vote for the official name of this new school idol group aiming to be recognized as the sister group for μ’s. Like the original Love Live! school idols, this group (which is also formed by an orange-haired protagonist), aims to reinvigorate their school, Ura no Hoshi Girls Academy.

So, what do you guys think of the new batch of school idols?

Cast for Love Live! follow-up series, Love Live! Sunshine, finally revealed

Silent Hills officially cancelled by Konami, Norman Reedus speaks

After all the hype and excitement, the upcoming collaboration game between Konami and Hollywood director, Guillermo del Toro, which is Silent Hills, has officially been cancelled by Konami itself.

Normus

Silent Hills, which also features actor Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame, was one of the most hyped up games Konami has introduced last year, but with the gaming company’s recent restructuring and Kojima leaving Konami after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the game’s future was in question, and with the cancellation now officially confirmed, it seems that the Silent Hills hype train has come to a screeching stop leaving a lot of fans severely disappointed.

cfgjkdt

Norman Reedus has also spoken about the matter and tweeted in his personal twitter page, @wwwbigbaldhead, how disappointed he is.

“Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it’ll come back around. Sorry everyone”

Konami meanwhile released a statement about the matter as well.

“Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.

In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements.”

So Konami will be continuing Silent Hill games, but not Silent Hills. Well, that’s still a huge bummer given that people were actually excited to see a Guillermo del Torro – Hideo Kojima project with Norman Reedus in the lead.

The Silent Hills playable teaser or P.T. will also be pulled from the PlayStation Network this April 29, so fans who want proof in the future that this project actually existed, then now’s the time to download it.

Fans rank the Top 10 mangas they want to read the final volume of early

There will always be mangas that just keep going and going and going, and we want to read the ending of these mangas before they are even released. One example is Naruto, which had its final chapter leaked online and caused a lot of stir not only in Japan, but the entire world.

Japanese media website, Web R25, has taken a look at some mangas and asked 200 men and women from 20 – 30 years of age, and asked them which of these mangas do they really want to read the final chapter early. Here is what they had to say:

10) Captain Tsubasa by Youichi Takahashi

9) Berserk by Kentaro Miura

8) Oishinbo by Tetsu Kariya and drawn by Akira Hanasaki

7) Hajime no Ippo by George Morikawa

6) Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue

5) Hunter X Hunter by Yoshihiro Togashi

4) Golgo 13 by Takao Saito

3)  Detective Conan by Gosho Aoyama

cover (1)

2) Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouen-mae Hashutsujo/ KochiKame by Osamu Akemoto

jump-cover-kochikame

1) One Piece bu Eiichiro Oda

Volume_1

In an unsurprising turn of events, One Piece is the manga series that fans have voted for as the manga whose final chapter is the one which they want to read early. The series has gone on for almost two decades already and for one thing, it does not seem that it will end any time soon.

Second place meanwhile goes to one of the longest-running mangas in existence, KochiKame, which started its run waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1976, which is more than an entire decade before I was even born! Like One Piece (and many of the titles in this list), it also does not show any signs of ending just yet and might even go on for years to come.

so, which manga do you wanna see the ending of early?
