Good Smile Company and Piapro have finally opened this year’s Snow Miku 2016 design contest, and it is open to everyone, even the people living outside of Japan.
Last year, Good Smile Company and Piapro have decided that Hokkaido winter plants was the theme for Snow Miku 2015, and this year, they have decided to go with Hokkaido winter sports, which means artists who want to be the ones to design the new Snow Miku have to feature her doing winter sports which are currently being played in Hokkaido. Contestants are also encouraged to incorporate knit-caps, a winter sports staple, in their designs
Artists can design either Snow Miku, or her lovable pet rabbit, Yukine, who was introduced back in 2013 when she featured a “Magical Girl” design.
The winning Snow Miku design will be featured in next year’s Sapporo Snow Festival and will also receive a new limited edition nendoroid. The contest runs until May 11, 2015, and the winner will be decided via an online vote in Niconico. More information can be found in English through this link
