The battle between Light Yagami, or Kira, and his arch nemesis, L, has been one of the anime and manga industry’s most enduring rivalries, and that very rivalry is teased in a new TV ad for the series’ highly-anticipated live-action TV drama adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s Death Note.
Besides L (played by Kento Yamazaki) and Light Yagami (played by Masataka Kubota), the video also features the drama’s version of the Shinegami, Ryuk, as well as the actress, Hinako Sano, who portrays Misa Amane.
The live-action Death Note TV drama will begin airing in Japan this July 5, 2015 and will feature a different story to the original manga, the anime, and the live-action movies. You can also check out the cast costume reveal for the Death Note TV drama through this link
