[VIDEO] Live-action Ghost in the Shell play reveals Motoko Kusanagi"s actress in costume

Classic science fiction anime, Ghost in the Shell, is joining Japan’s 2.5D revolution as the series gets a new stage play titled Ghost in the Shell Arise: Ghost is Alive. The play’s official website has just been updated, and it not only reveals the actors taking part in the play, but also reveals lead actress, Kaede Aono in costume as the one and only Motoko Kusanagi.

Japanese voice actor and actor, Ikkyuu Juku, not only plays Aramaki in the play, but he also voices the character in the new movie as well as Ghost in the Shell Arise.


The play will be shown live at the Tokyo Geijutsu Gekijou Playhouse from November 5-15. It is also considered as the “very first” play to incorporate 3D videos in the actors’ performance. Audience members get to wear 3D glasses to enhance the stage play’s experience.
