Resident Evil the Musical?! Yes, it"s really happening, and will combine action with ballet

Resident Evil, also known as Biohazard in Japan, is one of the most well known zombie apocalypse franchises on Earth, and believe it or not, it is getting its own stage musical adaptation in Japan! Capcom’s official Japanese website for the franchise has revealed that the stage musical is really happening, and it will star former Takarazuka Revue actress Reon Yuzuki, who is featured in the musical play’s first key visual:

This will be the actress’s first lead role in a musical play. Titled “Musical Biohazard: Voice of Gaia,” the play will be combining the elements of action and ballet dancing. It will be directed by renowned Japanese musical director, G2, with Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi supervising the play’s production.

The play will be held at the Akasaka ACT Theater from September 30 to October 12, 2016, before travelling to Osaka  Umeda Arts Theater from November 11 to 16, 2016. Previously, the franchise has inspired a non-musical stage play, as well as a successful Hollywood movie series, as well as a Real Escape Game. One of the most popular titles in the horror-survival video game genre, the series has sold millions of copies worldwide.
