Get your tissues ready this September, as the live-action movie adaptation of Naoshi Arakawa’s tragic musical manga, Your Lie in April, will finally be making its premiere. Now, Toho Movie’s official YouTube channel has started streaming two new videos for the film, with the first one being a new trailer, and the second one a teaser.
This live-action movie adaptation will star Kento Yamazaki, who is known to fans as L in the live-action Death Note drama series, and he will be playing Kousei Arima. Suzu Hirose, who played Chihayafuru: Shimo no Ku’s Chihaya, will be playing the film’s tragic female lead, Kaori Miyazono, while Japanese pop singer and E-Girls group member, Anna Ishii, will be playing Kousei’s childhood friend, Tsubaki Sawabe. Finally, rounding out the main cast will be Taishi Nakagawa, who will be playing Ryouta Watari. You can watch the teaser trailer through this link.
Takehiko Shinjou will be directing the movie, while Strawberry Night live-action series’ Yukari Tatsui will be writing the scripts. The movie is slated for release on September 10, 2016, and guarantees to be another tear-jerker, just like the anime.
