The Top 20 Anisongs from the 2000"s with female vocals according to Charapedia

After taking a look at the best AniSongs of the 1990’s (for Male and Female vocals) and yielding not-so-surprising results, Charapedia is continuing their look at AniSongs of the past, this time looking in the ones from the previous decade, and ranking the ones with female vocals.

Charapedia asked 10,000 people (59.1% male, 40.1% female) to vote for their favorite AniSong from the 2000’s, and here are the Top 20:

20 – JOINT by Mami Kawada (Shakugan no Shana II)

19 – Orange by Rie Kugimiya, Yui Horie, and Eri Kitamura (Toradora!)

18 – Toki Wo Kizamu Uta by Lia (CLANNAD After Story)

17 – Sorairo Days by Shoko Nakagawa (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

16 – Don’t say lazy by Houkago Tea Time (K-On!)

15 – Northern Lights by Megumi Hayashibara (Shaman King)

14 – Seikan Hikou by Megumi Nakajima (Macross Frontier)

13 – Tune the Rainbow by Maaya Sakamoto (RahXephon)

12 – Realize by Nami Tamaki (Gundam SEED)

11 – Genesis of Aquarion by AKINO (Genesis of Aquarion)

10 – LION by May’n and Megumi Nakajima/ Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee (Macross Frontier)

9 – Hare Hare Yukai by Aya Hirano, Minori Chihara, and Yuko Goto (the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

8 – innocent starter by Nana Mizuki (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha)

7 – Shangri-La by Angela (Fafner Exodus)

6 – God knows… by Aya Hirano/ Haruhi Suzumiya  (the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

5 – Reason by Nami Tamaki (Gundam SEED Destiny)

4 – Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari by Supercell (Bakemonogatari)

3 – Tori no Uta by Lia (AIR)

2 – ETERNAL BLAZE by Nana Mizuki (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s)

1 – Only My Railgun by fripSide (A Certain Scientific Railgun)

Much like the two previous anisong rankings, this one for the 2000’s with female vocals poll has some pretty predictable results, with fripSide’s Only My Railgun predictably taking the top spot, as it is considered one of the greatest AniSongs of all time.

Mecha anime, which have been known for unforgettable anime songs, are also well-represented in this list, as Gundam, Macross, RahXephon, Aquarion, and Fafner Exodus were all represented… and no, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha isn’t counted as one, even though the battle scenes feel like it’s a Gundam anime. Though they did well in the rankings too, with Nana Mizuki showing us why she’s still in demand these days.
