Space Battleship Yamato is back to take on a new threat, and a new trailer for the first movie in the sequel series, Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love, has finally been released.
The anime’s story takes place three years after the events of Space Battleship Yamato 2199, where Earth has signed a peace treaty with the Garmilas Empire. However, this has led to Earth’s militarization, which was against Starsha Iscandar’s wishes. And as a new threat known as Gatlantis looms, the Yamato and its new crew gets summoned for a new mission by the “legendary goddess” Teresa.
Susumu Koudai be like… I’m the Captain now! The first part will be having a 2-week limited run in several Japanese theaters starting February 25, 2017. Characters like Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori returning, with new characters also being introduced.
Its release would be very much like the release of Space Battleship Yamato 2199, which usually got a theatrical release first, and then would be released in home video a few weeks later.
